What is PM – Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Muft Bijili Yojana , also known as the free electricity scheme, is a government subsidy scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2024, to provide free electricity to homes in India. This is for installing solar panels on rooftops of houses. Through this solar panel government scheme, households can produce their own electricity with rooftop solar panels by eliminating the traditional electricity and making the bill zero.

The scheme provides considerable solar panel subsidies to make renewable energy more affordable. The scheme offers a subsidy of up to 60% of the cost of solar panels with a maximum capacity of 2 kW, and the price is 60,000. For 3 kW, the subsidy is up to 40%, and the price you will get is 78000. Take advantage of this opportunity to switch to solar energy and save more!

The subsidy you will get for this is 60,000, and the price after the subsidy will be Rs. 90,000. This is not a big deal when considering the monthly electricity bill.
